Great North Run

September 12, 2027

An epic half marathon with around 60,000 participants, experience the electric atmosphere of the Great North Run! Raise money to help us secure the understanding, equity and care that people with ME deserve.

Date

September 2027 (Date TBC)

Location

Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK

How can I take part?

We fund your place in the half marathon event, and in return you agree to raise a minimum fundraising target (usually around £350 - TBC) pay a registration fee (usually around £30 - TBC). Our fundraising team will be here to support you every step of the way.

Our charity place applications will open on 15th September 2026.
Register your interest and we will send you an email when our applications open, including the updated terms and conditions, fundraising target and registration fee for 2027.

  1. Complete the application form before the end of February 2027 (deadline TBC)
  2. We will let you know if you were successful in early March 2027 and you can start your fundraising!

Get your own place in the event, and still raise money for Action for ME! Perfect if you don't want the hassle of applying and reaching a fundraising target, or if you would simply prefer to purchase your own place.

  1. Apply for a ballot place. There are usually two ballots for the Great North Run, one in September and one in early January.
  2. If you are successful, confirm your place with the organisers and let us know you want to fundraise for us.
