Mindfulness for people with ME/CFS and their carers
February 04, 2025
Since April 2024, Action for ME volunteer Alice Muskett has been offering free online Mindfulness workshops for people with ME/CFS and carers. Alice is trained as an accredited Mindfulness meditation teacher and she is passionate about the benefits of using meditation to support wellbeing.
Mindfulness is a way of accepting the present moment without judgement. Accessing these sessions may enable some people to improve their ability to deal with the stress of living with a long-term health condition like ME/CFS. Mindfulness is not for everyone and is only one part of the picture for anyone wanting to manage the symptoms of ME/CFS.
If you would like to attend this session, please get in touch.
The session will take place online at 2pm on Tuesday 11 February
You don’t need any equipment to participate, which you can do sitting or lying down. You can switch it off at any time if you feel you need to for any reason. Sessions are suitable for all levels of experience, including complete beginners.
IMPORTANT The workshops may not be
appropriate for someone who has epilepsy or has experienced complex trauma. If
you have asthma, then you may need your inhaler to hand, in case the focus on
breathing induces an asthma attack. If you have any doubts about listening,
then please check with your healthcare professional.
