Fundraise for us
Action for ME, like so many other charities, relies on our brilliant fundraisers taking part in key fundraising events to support our vital work.
See below for some high-energy fundraising ideas, or use the links on the left-hand side to find out more about our marathons (including the London Marathon and the Great North Run), Ultra Challenge events, lower-energy fundraising ideas and Anna's Blue Sunday Tea Party.
High-energy fundraising
The sky is the limit when it comes to fundraising ideas! You could do a sponsored run, walk or cycle, a skydive or a swim. You could take any interest or passion you have and turn it into a fundraising idea.
If you've got an idea in mind, or if you'd like some support with fundraising ideas, we'd love to hear from you! We're here to support you every step of the way whilst you make a real difference to the lives of those affected by ME.
We couldn’t do what we do without our amazing fundraisers, so thank you.
If you need some inspiration, here are some creative fundraising ideas from our past fundraisers:
- Ruth, aged 9, and her best friend Alice did a sponsored cycle ride to raise funds and awareness, as Ruth’s Aunty Bekky has ME. Ruth and Alice raised a brilliant £527! Ruth said “When I think about ME I feel like I want there to be a cure coming for my Auntie and to all the people out there with ME”
- Friends Jake, Ian, Paul, Dan, Chris, Rich and Matt took on a mammoth challenge to run 2280 miles together, the equivalent distance of Route 66! They were running on behalf of their close friend, who has ME. When they crossed the finish line, after raising a phenomenal £4,455, Jake said: “We're very much aware as we cross our virtual finish line, that those that suffer from ME/CFS have no finish line, and live with their illness every day. We hope that our efforts show that people really do care, and want to help and raise awareness.”
- Carl, Alex and Chris created their very own “Golf Marathon”, completing 72 holes of golf in one day and walking over 26 miles, to fundraise on behalf of their friend Tom, who has ME. The friends raised a fantastic £1,765.
If you have a fundraising idea and you’d like some advice or support to make it a reality, please get in touch - we'd love to hear from you!
