Join our Self Advocacy & SDS Scotland Workshop

Join our Self Advocacy and Self Directed Support (SDS) Scotland Workshop to hear about how you or someone who supports or cares for you can access and advocate for Self Directed Support (SDS) Scotland.

When? 2pm-3.30pm on Thursday, 27th April 2023.

Deadline to register: Wednesday, 26th April 2023.

What will it involve? In the workshop, we will share information on how to self-advocate and what SDS is and some things to consider when applying. We will also highlight that carers can get support through SDS and where else they might go for support.

We will hold the session for an hour then there will be half an hour for general questions. We will have a break if people need it. We can’t address specific cases online but can signpost to our services and other organisations that may be able to help.

You will be able to see staff and facilitators, but participants’ cameras are generally off during a webinar. We will record the webinar in case people can’t attend on the day. We will record the session in case people can’t attend on the day.

The workshop is open to anyone with M.E. in Scotland and anyone who cares for or supports someone with M.E.

SDS is a tool for supporting independent living and the mainstream way of providing social care support in Scotland. It can be used to access the practical assistance and support that people need to participate in society and live an ordinary life.
