Our Christmas Angels project is back!

Action for ME’s Christmas Angels project, now in its 16th year, is back!

“It's a very valuable way to feel connected to others in a similar situation, particularly at this time of year.”

This heartwarming project enables people with ME to send Christmas cards to each other via the Action for ME office – all it will cost you is the price of a card and stamp.

Our Christmas Angels project is open to anyone with ME of any age. If you’re aged 18 or under, you will need to be part of our Young People’s Community, which is free and easy to join. If you’re aged under 16, we will also check parental consent.

If you would like to send or receive a card from another person with ME this Christmas, or know someone who is severely affected by ME who would appreciate a card, please complete our simple online form.

Once completed, we will then email you with full instructions about how to send your card or cards to us at the Action for ME office. We are happy to start receiving them right away!

We ask that all cards arrive at our office by Monday 7 December 2026. This is to ensure we are able to send them back out in time for Christmas.

Last year, over 90% of participants surveyed said they felt more connected to other people with ME, and over 60% said they felt less isolated. Here’s what some previous Christmas Angels participants have said:

“December is often a really tough time because it’s hard to get into the festive spirit while not being able to join in most of the activities that used to make me feel that way. Especially when you’re watching everyone else around you get to do them still. My social circle as a result of being ill is a lot smaller these days and so getting a card and a nice message from someone outside of my immediate family honestly matters so much to me. It makes me smile (and cry!) every time. Thank you so much for organising this!”

“Christmas Angels makes me feel as if I have friends among the M.E community when I have lost friends due to the life changing illness. Sending the cards gives me a positive purpose. Receiving the cards is uplifting. Thank you Action for ME and Christmas Angels.”
