PRIME Research Project First Workshop

11 December 2025

We are delighted to announce the first online workshop of the PRIME project!

When: Wednesday, 21 January 2026 2pm-5pm

PRIME stands for “Building Infrastructure for Patients, Researchers and Industry for Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.”
It is an initiative designed to strengthen and accelerate research into ME/CFS.

Funded by the UK Medical Research Council from 2025–2029, PRIME is led by the University of Edinburgh in partnership with Action for ME and aims to:

·  Catalyse 15 new research collaborations

·  Develop two international research consortia

·  Establish a Public and Patient Involvement Pool to support meaningful collaboration with people with lived experience in research

This workshop is aimed at researchers, industry partners, and other experts who are interested in learning more about PRIME and exploring how quantitative methodologies, including artificial intelligence, have been applied to ME and long Covid - and how they could be used in future research.

We also warmly welcome members of the public, including the ME and long Covid community, who would like to learn more about PRIME and this area of research.

There will be opportunities to ask questions after each talk, as well as regular breaks built into the programme.

You can read the full event programme here.

Register for the workshop here.
